Expertise

Cardiff University is the main European centre for the HIPASS and HIJASS all-sky HI surveys. The Cardiff group will use this expertise to work on the simulations of the HI sky, one of the five key science areas for the SKA. The other role of the Cardiff group within the consortium will be to work on the data analysis issues. This will build on Cardiff’s experience as the data-analysis centre for the GEO 600 gravitational wave telescope, for which the data-handling problems are very similar to those which willbe faced by the SKA.

Participant in DS2 (Science and Astronomical Data Simulations). Participant in DS3 (The Network and its output data).
