Leeds has substantial expertise in high resolution observations of
star forming regions covering a variety of wavelengths and techniques,
including extensive use of radio interferometery. The star formation
group will perform simulations of the radio recombination and H I line
emission from a variety of protoplanetary discs, winds and jet
models. Leeds is also a world-leading centre for cosmic ray research
with Prof Watson as the spokesperson for the international Pierre
Auger Observatory. Members of this group will perform simulations of
the radio emission from ultra-highenergy cosmic rays.
